Strength to Keep Going

Originally preached on April 6, 2025.

scripture

1 Kings 19:1–8

summary

1 Kings 19:1–8 shows Elijah exhausted, discouraged, and ready to give up after ministry pressure and fear overwhelm him. Instead of rebuking him, God meets him with care: an angel provides food, water, and rest—twice—before sending him on his way strengthened for the journey ahead. The passage exhorts us to recognize our limits and receive God’s gracious provision, remembering that faithful service to God includes rhythms of rest as well as action. God sustains His servants not only through calling but also through simple, tangible means of grace so they can continue His work.

God Brings Us Together

Originally preached on May 30, 2026.

scripture

2 Corinthians 13:11–14

summary

In this Trinity Sunday sermon, we see how Paul calls a divided church to live in unity because of who God is: the grace of Christ restores us, the love of the Father forms us, and the fellowship of the Spirit binds us together. Therefore, the church is to rejoice, pursue restoration, comfort one another, seek unity, live in peace, and welcome one another as family. The Trinity doesn’t just command unity—it creates it, making the church a people held together by God himself.
