Our Sending God

Galatians 4:4-7

summary

Paul teaches that God is a sending God—Father, Son, and Spirit all actively working in our salvation. The Father sends the Son to redeem us, the Spirit is sent into our hearts to assure us of our adoption, and together they bring us into God’s family as heirs with Christ. Because of this, our mission is not driven by guilt or pressure but flows from confidence in our identity as adopted children of God.

1 Peter 2:9–12 calls believers to live out their identity as God’s chosen people by declaring His goodness and living distinct, holy lives in a watching world. Having been brought from darkness into light, they are to resist sin and maintain honorable conduct so that others may see God through their lives.
